From Files to your home screen

Files

You open the IPA file you saved in the Files app, and it lands in the signer.

Signer

The signer applies a certificate on the iPhone itself, and the file row changes to Signed.

Home screen

You tap Install, the icon shows up on your home screen, and the app opens from there.

Before you sign

Do

Sign IPA files from a source you can name and trust.

Watch for

iOS can ask you to trust the profile in Settings, under device management, before the app opens.

Don't

Type your Apple ID password for an IPA you don't recognize.

Where it stops

What it won't do

It won't jailbreak your iPhone or iPad. iOS remains unchanged, and the signer only installs the IPA files you choose.

Sign the IPA you saved, on the iPhone or iPad in your hand.
